Eucerin AtopiControl Body Lotion

Eucerin AtopiControl Body Lotion uses a combination of concentrated Omega-6-fatty acids (Evening Primrose Oil and Grape Seed Oil) and soothing Licochalcone A (an extract of the licorice root) to replenish skin, helping restore its natural barrier and making it more resilient. Apply once or twice daily or as adjunctive care to Eucerin AtopiControl Acute Care Cream during a flare-up.

With regular application itch and tightness are relieved and skin feels soft and noticeably smoothed. Eucerin AtopiControl Body Lotion is clinically and dermatologically proven to be compatible with atopic skin in adults, children and babies from 3 months old.

The water-in-oil formula is fragrance-free, colourant-free and paraben-free to minimise the risk of skin irritation and allergies.

Clinical Formula

Licochalcone A
Licochalcone A is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing ingredient. It is derived from the root of the Chinese Licorice plant (Glycyrrhiza Inflata) which uses natural compounds to protect its cells from excessive sunlight. When used in skincare products, Licochalcone A works to reduce inflammation and neutralize free radicals that negatively influence skin cells and accelerate the aging process. It helps to protect the deeper epidermal skin layers from sun-induced effects.

Ceramide 3

Ceramides are essential skin lipids that form a key component of the epidermal barrier.

They provide two main benefits:

  • Barrier Function: Ceramides strengthen and restore the skin’s protective barrier, preventing transepidermal water loss and shielding against environmental stressors.
  • Dry Skin Relief: By maintaining optimal hydration levels, ceramides alleviate symptoms of dryness, keeping the skin soft and resilient.

FAQ

What is the difference between Eucerin AtopiControl Care Cream and Eucerin AtopiControl Body Lotion?

The key ingredients are the same in both but the texture is different. Eucerin AtopiControl Care Cream is richer and thicker than Eucerin AtopiControl Body Lotion. This makes it better for localised application whereas Body Lotion is applied more liberally.

Will Eucerin AtopiControl products cure my Atopic Dermatitis?

There is no cure as such for this disease but applying AtopiControl Care Cream as part of a daily skin care routine can alleviate some of the discomfort.

Is Eucerin AtopiControl Body Lotion suitable for use on children?

Yes, so long as your child is three months or older.

What is meant by the “vicious circle of atopic skin”?

This describes the constant dry, itchy skin cycle experienced by people with Atopic Dermatitis. Irritation begins so the sufferer scratches. The scratching causes inflammation which leads to skin dryness which causes barrier dysfunction. This, in turn, provides a humid growth environment for Staphylococcus aureus bacteria to colonise, causing irritation and further scratching. And so the vicious circle continues.

Is Atopic Dermatitis the same as eczema?

No. Eczema is a general term for any inflammation of the skin. Atopic Dermatitis is a form of eczema, so is also known as Atopic Eczema, but there are several other skin diseases that are eczemas but not Atopic Dermatitis.
